Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas installed new officers at their annual conferences in June 2006.

Arkansas State MTA is grateful to Alline Fulton for making the Arkansas website a reality and to Linda Holzer, NCTM, and Trudy Kincade, NCTM, for their assistance. ASMTA also expresses gratitude to Dan Dykema who served so well as treasurer for many years.

New programs for Oklahoma MTA include a state composition festival and the implementation of a service recognition award to help supplement dues for retired members.

Congratulations to Baton Rouge MTA, 2005 MTNA Local Association of the Year! Louisiana MTA is truly grateful for the donations from MTNA members.

Texas MTA thanks the MTNA Conference attendees who visited the TMTA office. It has been a joy to serve as your president, working with our very efficient President-elect Charles Jones, NCTM, and very capable MTNA Director Karen Harrington, NCTM I am indeed grateful for the opportunity to serve now as director and to work with Director-elect Celinda Hallbauer, NCTM.

Harrington writes," My deepest thanks to the South Central Division members for allowing me to represent you on the MTNA Board of Directors. It was a rewarding, wonderful experience and made me appreciate even more all who contribute time and effort to advancing our profession. To our state presidents, competition chairs, and President and President-elect Ruth Pitts, NCTM, and Charles Jones, NCTM, I extend my heartfelt gratitude.
