South Carolina: park renamed after NRPA life trustee.

 was recently named the Beverly D. Brandes Community Park after Brandes announced her retirement as chair from the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission mission board. The commission also established a fund in Brandes' honor to purchase playground Playground - A visual language for children, developed for Apple's Vivarium Project. OOPSLA 89 or 90?  equipment for the park. In her more than 30 year-involvement, Brandes was the leading voice in the community for recreational programs and facilities for children, adults, seniors and people with disabilities.
