, a new residential offering which will be part of the ongoing redevelopment in the heart of this City.

Mayor O'Leary gathered with members of South Amboy's municipal and business communities and developer Baker Residential to signify the commencement of site work at this collection of 40 townhomes and condominiums located at the corner of Broadway and Main Streets.

Beacon Pointe will represent the third residential offering introduced by Baker Residential in South Amboy. The community follows in the footsteps of Lighthouse Bay and Harbor Village at Lighthouse Bay, two popular neighborhoods situated on Raritan Bay Raritan Bay is a bay between the U.S. states of New York and New Jersey. "We have worked diligently with South Amboy during the development programs for each of these communities to create a public/private partnership that is sensitive to the City's unique position as a waterfront community and provides responsible housing that addresses its residential needs," said Ken Wilson

Beacon Pointe will be one of the first new-construction residential destinations offered in South Amboy's downtown area. The three-story buildings will feature a mixture of two-story townhomes and single-level condominium residences.

"Everything will be close at hand," said Tim Cashel, division manager with Baker Residential for the Central New Jersey region. "Major commuting options such as express NJ Transit trains at South Amboy's renovated train station are just steps away, while the nearby Garden State Parkway The Garden State Parkway is a 172.4-mile (277-km) limited-access toll parkway that stretches the length of New Jersey from the New York state line at Montvale, New Jersey, to Cape May at the southern tip of the state.
