South Africa remittance service starts.

MANAMA: Western Union has launched its money transfer service from Bahrain to South Africa.

Customers will be able to use the Western Union Money Transfer Service to send money to over 30 Absa Bank locations across South Africa.

Money transferred via Western Union is available for pick-up within minutes from agent locations in the South African cities of Atlantis, Benoni, Booysens, Bramley, Cape Town, Durban, East London, Heerengracht, Johannesburg, Kimberley, Kroonstad, Midrand, Nelspruit, Polokwane, Port Elizabeth, Pretoria, Rustenburg, Sandton, Stanger and Thabazimbi.

"Global migration is the cornerstone of the growth we have experienced as a money transfer service provider, and this new service reflects the heightened demand from South Africans in the region," Western Union Financial Services, senior vice-president for Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan Jean Claude Farah said.
