South Africa : THALES appointes to offer Avionics Support for South African Aircraft.
As per this contract, Thales is to supply Through Life Support (TLS (1) (Transport Layer Security) A security protocol from the IETF that is based on the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) 3.0 protocol developed by Netscape. TLS uses digital certificates to authenticate the user as well as authenticate the network (in a wireless ) for Thales avionics equipment on aircraft operated by the South African Department of Defense, South African Air Force and Armaments Corporation of South Africa South Africa, Afrikaans Suid-Afrika, officially Republic of South Africa, republic (2005 est. pop. 44,344,000), 471,442 sq mi (1,221,037 sq km), S Africa. Ltd. (Armscor).
Merry Michaux, Thales vice president and managing director of Military Aerospace Customer Support and Services said, "Under this extended perimeter contract, Thales will deliver a global logistics support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services solution to Armscor, encompassing, among other items, management of obsolescence, of strategic stocks of components, technical support and assistance."
