) service by providing multiple production programming options for PIC10F customers. The service uses a proprietary integrated system that programs the SOT-23 packaged part to a customer's specific requirements and then places it in tape and reel. The Source Electronics service employs vision placement controls to ensure the highest quality and output available.  customers with specialized services such as inventory management, custom marking, unique testing and screening.

"With the tremendous success of our PIC10F family, cost-effective production programming has become a vital service for our customers," said Steve Drehobl, vice president of Microchip's Security, Microcontroller and Technology Development Division. "It is important that Microchip help to make production easy for our customers by providing multiple programming options."

"We are providing Microchip's customers with a low-cost, high-volume production programming alternative for the PIC10F family of microcontrollers," said Rick Staszewski, vice president of sales for Source Electronics. "The development of this service satisfies a significant customer need."

The PIC10F 8-bit Flash microcontroller remains the world's smallest microcontroller and the first and only 6-pin microcontroller family in the world, since being introduced in June 2004. The PIC10F microcontroller family in SOT-23 packaging (PIC10F200, PIC10F202, PIC10F204, PIC10F206, PIC10F220 and PIC10F222) is well suited for any space-constrained application requiring embedded Inserted into. The PIC10F204 and PIC10F206 offer an analog comparator comparator

The combination of the PIC10F's small form factor, high performance and low cost supports applications that are not traditionally served by microcontrollers, such as electronic glue, logic control and intelligent disposable electronics.
