John Stirratt John Stirratt is the bassist for Wilco and the former guitarist/bassist of Uncle Tupelo. He and Jeff Tweedy are the only original members of Wilco still with the band. Stirratt is also the twin brother of Laurie Stirratt, formerly of Blue Mountain. , a longtime member of Wilco and before that of Uncle Tupelo, founded the Autumn Defense about seven years ago with Pat Sansone. The band formed shortly after Stirratt had completed the `Mermaid Avenue' sessions with Wilco and Billy Bragg. POP NOTES A news release says the band shares roots with the Southern rock scene of the late 1980s. "The Autumn Defense creates a sound which both embraces and resists the moods of autumn, and so defines their name," the release says. After two full-length CDs, the multi-instrumental duo is touring with its third release, a self-titled project that came out in January. I-chele & the Circle of Light Today, McShane's When I-chele & the Circle of Light get back to town from its tour in Arizona, the Eugene-based roots reggae group will have a new CD showcasing its singer's powerful vocals over drum-and-bass rhythms. The CD release show will happen tonight at McShane's Bar and Grill, 86495 College View Road, Springfield. The album, "Salon de Esoterica esoterica Medtalk A synonym for 'oddballs'–unusual causes of common complaints. See Anecdotal, Fascunomia. (Liquid Love)," was produced by reggae great Vince Black. "With a sensuous, passionate flair, I-chele creates her own blend of reggae, highly influenced by Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix and Sade," a news release says.
