SoundWorks International, Inc. Enters Into 5-CD Licensing Agreement With Ace Records, U.K.

SEATTLE--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Feb. 2, 2001

SoundWorks International, Inc. (NQB NQB National Quotation Bureau, Inc (now Pink Sheets) :SOWK SOWK Somewhere Only We Know (Keane song) ) has announced the signing of an agreement with the prestigious record label, Ace Records of the United Kingdom. The agreement calls for Ace Records producing and releasing compilation albums made up of SoundWorks archived music masters for release in England. SoundWorks receives a cash advance and a royalty stream based on sales of the CD's. The contract calls for the release of at least five CD's, beginning with the initial, "Northwest Battle of the Bands."

Scott McCaughey, a long-time Northwest music expert, states about the release, "This is the stuff that not only kept the 60's teens dancing, but also the stuff that inspired so many Seattle, Olympia, Portland and other Pacific Northwest bands to pick up guitars and make noise, from the late 70's through the 90's. There's a direct line from the Sonics and Frantics and Kingsmen to the Telepaths and Wipers

Artists featured in the first Ace Records CD, all originally released on Jerden Records or its affiliate labels in the 60's, include The Sonics, Don & The Goodtimes, Sir Raleigh & The Coupons, The Juveniles, The Dimensions, The Counts, Mr. Lucky and the Gamblers Mr. Lucky and the Gamblers (1964–1967) was one of the most popular garage rock groups in the US Pacific Northwest. During their short four year history, they refined their act to win over many fans throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Northern California and Western Canada. , The Bards, The Dynamics, and many more. The original Jerden Records label, active throughout the 60's, had 125 artists under contract.
