Sorrent Opens European Office; Leading Mobile Entertainment Publisher Names Julian Hardy to Lead European Expansion.

At MILIA 2004 today in Cannes, Sorrent Inc., a leading creator and publisher of mobile entertainment, announced its expansion into the European mobile entertainment market with the opening of a new office in London. The company also announced the appointment of Julian Hardy, a well-known media executive and former president of EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) Refers to that region of the world. For example, one might see products packaged differently for the UK, EMEA and Asia Pacific markets.  at MFORMA, to the position of president of EMEA for Sorrent. Hardy will manage Sorrent's sales, marketing and operations in Europe including the development of licenses and products specifically targeted at the region as the company extends its industry leadership.

"The European markets offer tremendous opportunities for Sorrent as a creator and publisher of original and third party mobile entertainment content," said Ray Schaaf, president of publishing at Sorrent. "Julian is an experienced entertainment executive with extensive carrier and content relationships in Europe and with him at the helm, Sorrent expects to quickly meet Europe's great demand for compelling mobile entertainment."

Sorrent has already seen traction in Europe through its existing distribution and licensing agreements, and has begun to publish premium content from leading European publishers for US consumers. Sorrent has already filled other European positions as the company rapidly scales to respond to the needs of its European partners.

An accomplished media industry veteran, Hardy joins Sorrent from wireless publisher MFORMA, where he was president of EMEA. While at MFORMA, Hardy managed the growth of the EMEA as a stand-alone business taking it from start-up to a multi-million dollar operation with the most extensive market share across Europe. Prior to MFORMA, Hardy was CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization.
