) - Sony announced on January 5 that it has prototyped the world's first LCD TV that has supported xvYCC, a new international video color space standard, and is showcasing it at the 2006 International CES in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Sony promotes the Full HD World concept in its efforts to enable consumers to enjoy a wider variety of high-resolution video sources at home via digital high definition broadcast, HDV-ready digital camcorders and new optical discs such as Blu-ray. The latest xvYCC standard enables the reproduction of truly natural and high-resolution picture images in a wider color range, paving the way for a new display era.
