2009 Charity Walk and Festival Set for October 10, 2009

CHERRY HILL Cherry Hill, township (1990 pop. 69,319), Camden co., W central N.J.; name was changed from Delaware township to Cherry Hill in 1961. Largely residential, Cherry Hill has been marked by great development and housing growth, especially since the 1970s. , N.J. -- The Sons of Italy New Jersey Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the oldest and largest national organization for men and women of Italian descent, today announced its 2009 Charity Walk, to be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at Cooper River Cooper River may refer to:

 Park on North Park Drive in Pennsauken, NJ. At this annual event, in recognition of Columbus Day Columbus Day, holiday commemorating Christopher Columbus's discovery of America. It has been traditionally celebrated on Oct. 12 throughout most of the United States, parts of Canada, and in several of the Latin American republics. , the Sons of Italy New Jersey Foundation, Inc. will also honor two Italian-Americans for their contributions to the community, charity and fostering a positive image of Italians in America.

Vitale (born November 10, 1954) is an American Democratic Party politician, who has been serving in the New Jersey State Senate since 1998, where he represents the 19th Legislative District.  (D-NJ). The event will also feature a ceremony to mark Columbus Day, and a festival that will feature food, Italian-themed vendors and novelties, a bocce tournament and children's activities area. The highlight of the day's events will feature live entertainment, including comedian Uncle Floyd and singer Al Chance, a performance by crooner Micheal Castaldo, a singer, recording artist, composer and connoisseur, and a special appearance by Bob Charger, Radio Personality, from WOGL 98.1 FM. The proceeds of the Charity Walk and Festival will benefit the organization's philanthropic activities, including scholarships for high school students, medical research, and supporting the preservation and promotion of Italian-American heritage and culture.
