Sonoco to sell its HDPE film business.

Sonoco of Hartsville, S.C., has agreed to sell its HDPE film business to Hilex Poly Co., LLC in Los Angeles and DCH I Investment Holdings, LLC of Atlanta and Los Angeles. Sonoco produces HDPE grocery, retail, produce, and quick-service bags as well as agricultural film at five U.S. plants. They employ around 800 people. In the first half of 2003, this business had sales around $89.5 million.
