Sonic Telecom Opens New Full-Time, Global Broadcast Service Operations Facility At McKibben Communications and Lights Enhanced Network.

Sonic Telecom, Ltd., today announced the Sonic Content Control Center (SC3) is now operating full-time (24x7) for scheduling, service implementation, monitoring and trouble resolution of Sonic Broadcast and Content services.

The new SC3 is collocated at the Los Angeles International MediaCenter(TM), owned and operated by McKibben Communications, LLC, in Chatsworth, California. Sonic will continue to operate its core Sonic ATM network from the company's headquarters in Chantilly, VA.

The inauguration of Sonics new operations capability (SC3) is concurrent with its Thomson Nextream-based network enhancement completed this week as well. The enhanced network increases Sonic's occasional service capacity by 400%, offering true switched virtual circuits (SVC's) and on-demand scaleable bandwidth.

In order to maximize network reliability, provide access to clients and services around the world such as end-to-end ASI, Sonic has extended its digital network into broadcast service hubs and teleports, like the Los Angeles International MediaCenter, in each of the key cities Sonic serves around the world which include: Atlanta, Cologne, London, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Washington DC.

This conjoining of satellite and fiber optic networks allows customers of either company more choices and flexibility as McKibben Communication's access to the international satellite network is complemented by Sonic's international fiber optic network.

In addition to being able to route traffic over satellite or fiber seamlessly, McKibben Communication's customers can now make use of Sonic Broadcaster(TM), the usage-based service that bills by the minute, with no minimum charges.
