Well, why not just skip the time and expense of making the movie and go right to the music? That seems to be the strategy of Songs for the Jet Set, Vol. 3. This collection of imaginary cinematic sounds was created by a group of puckish U.K. artists who call their genre "cinema pop." (One name you'll recognize is Simon Fisher Turner, a collaborator of the late Derek Jarman.) The selections here are credited to bands you've never heard of, such as Tomorrow's World, Death By Chocolate, and Wall-paper. But the songs are wonderfully familiar--at least if you grew up in the '60s and watched The Avengers, James Bond flicks, and Georgy Girl; listened to The Kinks and Petula Clark; and dressed in Mary Quant Quant A person with numerical and computer skills who carries out quantitative analyses of companies. with lots of eye-liner.
