Solid modelling kernel to speed customers 3D design and product development. (News).


Autodesk will begin development of a dedicated 3D modelling kemel, named Autodesk ShapeManager, to be incorporated in Autodesk Inventor and other Autodesk design software. The ShapeManager based on the ACIS 7.0 kernel will allow users to build and modify complex virtual models, which require sophisticated mathematical computations to define three-dimensional design intent. Autodesk has a large development team with experience in solid modelling and development of the ACIS kernel, will erentc a purpose- built, feature-based modelling engine for Autodesk Inventor for the needs of 3D users in manufacturing.
