Solid Information Technology and MySQL AB Expand Partnership; Companies Announce Agreement to Integrate and Resell Joint Offering.

The two companies agree that solidDB(TM) Storage Engine for MySQL will become the first new certified, integrated storage engine for MySQL's new partner program (http://www.mysql.com/engines). Solid and MySQL will work together to promote and sell solidDB as part of the MySQL Network enterprise subscription service.

The combination of MySQL Network and the solidDB Storage Engine will provide database developers and database administrators (DBAs) with enhanced services for successfully developing and deploying business-critical applications. MySQL Network includes access to certified database software, updates and upgrades, proactive alerts, software advisors, the online MySQL knowledge base, and full production-level technical support.

solidDB Storage Engine for MySQL brings forth robust, proven OLTP capabilities that Solid has been providing and enhancing for more than 14 years. Key features of solidDB Storage Engine include multi-version concurrency control, full transactional integrity with robust ACID support, online backup capabilities, fast performance for mixed workloads and robust security with database roles.

The source code of solidDB Storage Engine, similar to the MySQL Server, will be covered by GNU Public License (GPL) and available for public BETA in July 2006. A close source prototype of solidDB Storage Engine for MySQL is currently available for download and community testing at http://www.solidDB.com/mysql.
