Soldiers get new daggers.
Rockwell Collins recently concluded delivery to the US Army of
50,000 Defense Advanced Global positioning System Receivers (Dagr). The
Dagr handheld GPS position, navigation and situational awareness system
provides five times the capabilities and functions of Rockwell's
PLGR receiver, of which the company had sold more than 200,000
worldwide. The unit provides precise timing to synchronise tactical
radios and crypto equipment, a graphical user interface and incorporates
anti-jam improvements (over the PLGR) for enhanced protection; this
through the inclusion of the next-generation Saasm security device.
