Software Moguls' SM-arch backup/retrieval software now available with Q-Series DLT tape libraries from Breece Hill.
The new cooperative support program will provide users, resellers and integrators with a reliable, powerful and fully-integrated back-up/retrieval system using optimized hardware and software technology for virtually any UNIX platform, including Sun, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and Silicon Graphics, according to Software Moguls President Vinod Gupta.
"Breece Hill's libraries have been architected to provide superior reliability and to allow flexible system connections to maximize data transfer rates," said Gupta. "In combination with our versatile, cost-efficient SM-arch system, they provide excellent performance for any heterogeneous environment."
Based in Boulder, Colorado, Breece Hill has developed industry-leading cost-efficient, high-end DLT libraries including the Q47, with a total of 60 tapes and four drives, and the Q7, with 28 tapes and a pair of drives. The Q-Series delivers between three and 12 MB per second data transfers, from individual SCSI connectors at each drive.
In the third quarter, Breece Hill will begin shipment of its Q2.15, a rack mount library with two DLT drives and 15-cartridge capacity. A pass-through shuttle will allow users to add storage in a modular fashion as their environments expand.
Based in Minneapolis, Software Moguls now serves a fast-growing number of Fortune 500 companies, international organizations, and government agencies including John Deere, 3M, State Street Bank, Mitsubishi Chemical, Pacific Telesis, MBNA, The Signature Group, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, CITGO, Motorola Inc., and many others.
