I am 17 years old and would like to know if I would be able to file for minor emancipation.
Technology, Inc. today unveiled DISCOVER 4.0, the latest release of the Company's Development Information System. DISCOVER Release 4.0 sees the introduction of REENGINEER/SET, a group of specialized applications that provide rapid system transformation. This technology facilitates logical and physical decomposition decomposition /de·com·po·si·tion/ (de-kom?pah-zish´un) the separation of compound bodies into their constituent principles.

How DISCOVER Works

Software Emancipation's DISCOVER Development Information System provides professional software development organizations with the information and applications they need to improve software development process and productivity. DISCOVER works by scanning and identifying all elements in a company's software and then building an Information Model, which is a data representation of the entire software system. Integrated into existing environments and tools such as configuration management, testing, and documentation generation, the Information Model is accessed and leveraged by DISCOVER's application sets, including DEVELOP/SET, and the new REENGINEER/SET.

System Transformation: The Building Block for Reengineering Software As today's software applications become more demanding and complex, they simultaneously require increasingly difficult and time-consuming programming.

With the release of DISCOVER 4.0, Software Emancipation empowers companies to functionally restructure and reengineer their software through System Transformation. Developers using DISCOVER's new "software housekeeping A set of instructions that are executed at the beginning of a program. It sets all counters and flags to their starting values and generally readies the program for execution. " and system-wide automation practices can restructure previously unorganized software code into manageable components. "Dead" code can be safely deleted Deleted

programming tasks, DISCOVER 4.0 automatically achieves what previously would have taken groups of developers years to accomplish. System Transformation is achieved through REENGINEER/SET, a group of solutions that includes: PACKAGE/sw, PARTITION/sw, and SIMPLIFY.H/sw.

REENGINEER/SET: PACKAGE/sw, PARTITION/sw, and SIMPLIFY.H/sw At the heart of DISCOVER 4.0 is REENGINEER/SET, of which PACKAGE/sw is an integral part. PACKAGE/sw helps developers analyze their source code in order to determine how to divide existing software into new application packages. Software Emancipation envisions this technology as a way for companies, and in particular product marketers, to respond quickly to vertical market changes and customer-driven requests with revised or new applications.

PARTITION/sw allows complete logical and physical decomposition of software. With PARTITION/sw, developers can reorganize re·or·gan·ize

existing software into smaller, cleaner, more manageable pieces, to delete unnecessary code, or to divide the software into two or more applications. PARTITION/sw groups software entities into subsystems that can then be restructured in a user-defined configuration. The process also aids developers in moving functions from one file to another, performing much of the task automatically and flagging issues that need to be examined and dealt with manually. Information generated by PACKAGE/sw can be optionally used to perform the movement and partitioning To divide a resource or application into smaller pieces. See partition, application partitioning and PDQ.  activities.

SIMPLIFY/sw helps reduce makefile dependencies, which serves to optimize compilation time and minimize recompilations. This function allows developers to focus valuable time on other issues involved in the development project.

Explains Thomas Axbey, vice president of marketing for Software Emancipation, "With DISCOVER 4.0's REENGINEER/SET, development organizations can rapidly move to modular, or component-based development. Working with smaller, cleaner pieces of software greatly improves a company's ability to build a repeatable development process, and therefore, improve software quality, and speed time-to-market." He adds, "This is a technology based on what we call good software housekeeping, something that was only previously accomplished through hiring more and more people and by buying more hardware."

Pricing, Availability and System Requirements To be used efficiently, all computer software needs certain hardware components or other software resources to be present on a computer system. These pre-requisites are known as (computer) system requirements and are often used as a guideline as opposed to an absolute rule.

DISCOVER 4.0 is available immediately through Software Emancipation. It currently operates on Sun and HP UNIX UNIX
