Mines brings to the position more than 15 years of enterprise product development and senior management experience. He has been responsible for building world-class product development teams to deliver enterprise level software products to customers, including the majority of the Fortune 500. He assumes his position at Softface as the company readies to release its enterprise-class Procurement Intelligent Suite 4.0, an integration-ready solution that leapfrogs the enterprise spending analysis software industry with new features and scalability.

Most recently, Mines was senior vice president of product development at Entercept Security Technologies, a leader in intrusion prevention software. During his tenure, he re-architected Entercept's desktop product to be more scalable, formed the Ricochet Security Research Team, and introduced a new class of host based intrusion detection product for databases.

Prior to Entercept, Mines was vice president of engineer at PerfectCommerce, the leader in enabling self-service sourcing events. As one of the first hires, he instituted a world-class development team, product delivery processes, and developed four technology patents based on value based market optimization engines, eRFQ, eBOM and electronic negotiation. This background and domain expertise in the sourcing arena makes Bob yet more valuable to Softface.

Before PerfectCommerce, he was a senior manager at JavaSoft, a division of Sun Microsystems. At JavaSoft he developed several Java Server products, including the JavaEmbedded Server and the Java WebTop Server as well as the initial Java Server Pages (JSP) specification. Mines formed the Open Services Gateway Initiative (OSGI), an industry consortium focused on residential gateways, where he represented Sun Microsystems on the Board of Directors. Mines also was vice president of engineering at OneSecure, acquired by NetScreen Technologies Inc., in August of 2002.
