The New York State Society of Professional Engineers, Inc. is the premier organization of engineering professionals that promotes and defends the lawful and ethical practice of engineering.

The core values of the organization are the protection of the public by promoting competent, ethical practice of engineering. The chapter provides education, career development, and networking opportunities for engineering professionals and students. Each year the chapter provides scholarships for New York City high school students pursuing advanced studies in engineering. The chapter holds monthly lectures on various topics of interest to its members and other real estate professionals.

The New York Chapter will be holding its next lecture on Wednesday, October 25, featuring Robert LiMandri, First Deputy Commissioner of the NYC Department of Buildings, and Leslie Torres, Esq. Assistant Commissioner of the Enforcement Division. They will discuss enforcement at the NYC DoB, and the risks associated with the Professional Certification Program.

A presentation will also be held about the proposed Rule 21, E-filing, the B-Scan programs, and the proposed pilot program for the TR-1. Attendees are invited to email questions to be addressed during this presentation. Mueser Rutledge Consulting Engineers, geotechnical and foundation engineers since 1910, are sponsoring this program. The program includes a light meal, and will be processed for 1 Professional Development Hour credit.
