Soap Box: JUMBO DOSE OF EMOTION.

I DEFY anyone not to go 'aah' and start smiling while watching Elephant Diaries (BBC1, Monday to Friday).

Michaela Strachan follows the workers at a Kenyan elephant orphanage as they look after young charges who have lost their mothers. It's emotional stuff - elephants are thought to be the only mammals, apart from humans, who cry.

Also this week in the Africa Lives season, Holby City goes to the continent when Ric (Hugh Quarshie) returns to his family home in Ghana. Diane follows him there to persuade him to come home, but romance intervenes.

And look out for the final ever Ground Force on Thursday, as Charlie Dimmock and Tommy Walsh transform a patch of lawn outside London's British Museum into an exotic African garden.
