) - So-net Entertainment Corporation has announced its So-net buzzmap service which users can access from their website.

So-net's buzzmap utilizes Google Maps Google Maps (for a time named Google Local) is a free web mapping service application and technology provided by Google that powers many map-based services including the Google Maps website, Google Ride Finder and embedded maps on third-party websites via the Google Maps  API (Application Programming Interface) A language and message format used by an application program to communicate with the operating system or some other control program such as a database management system (DBMS) or communications protocol.  (if accessed on a PC) and Cybermap Japan's Mapion (if accessed via a mobile phone). The buzzmap enables users to make their own map directory by registering their favorite spots (through RSS feeds Summaries of Web site content that are published in the RSS format for download. See RSS.  or by logging on) and then entering comments. Registered spots are shown on the rankings chart and users can also add to their list of favorite spots by importing ones registered by others.

The registered information can be accessed by all 3G mobile phones with WAP (1) (Wireless Access Point) See access point.

(2) (Wireless Application Protocol) A standard for providing cellular phones, pagers and other handheld devices with secure access to e-mail and text-based Web pages.
 2.0 compatible browsers. The registration of favorite spots from a mobile phone will be available this spring.

Going forward, So-net and So-net blog will launch an interchangeable service allowing users to upload map directories into their blog sites and use blogs to add favorite spots to their maps.
