So not over.

Forgive the serious tone in response to an amusing article ["Is Angie Over?" August 14], but the media have failed, for years, to mention another reason why Angelina Jolie can be admired, including by "rabid lesbian fans" like me: She wrote a book, Notes From My Travels, about her work with refugees; proceeds go to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) (established December 14, 1950) protects and supports refugees at the request of a government or the United Nations and assists in their return or resettlement. . Her image turnaround, discussed only recently, is not new--she published this book over four years ago. Anyone whose invisibility means they can be killed and no one sees it--whether they're refugees from Cambodia or they have been kicked out of a home in the U.S.--can use someone who has the means to call for help. If Angelina Jolie is "over," it's because she's now in a position where we can look up to her.
