Snowboarders are taking their sport back to its roots. Led by two rider-owned events and a strong coalition of industry players, snowboarders are shaping the future of their sport by creating a unique global tour concept. Launching the movement with an exciting qualifying system to The Arctic Challenge, a contest developed by legendary snowboarder snow·board

Snowboarding is a genuine athlete-driven sport. The riders who shaped the history of snowboarding in the '80s and early '90s are now strongly influencing the development of different kinds of riding, rule books, events, companies, product development and communication about their sport. Younger riders learn from their peers and demand a say in the decision-making. With the respect, competence and finances of the companies supporting snowboarding, the new tour is a strong force in the rider-driven era of snowboarding. Riders have developed and own two of the events on the new tour. Burton pro rider Terje Haakonsen is in charge of the season-ending snowboarder's dream week of The Arctic Challenge in the stunning surroundings of Lofoten, Norway.
