The software runs over Apple's OS X and is fully compatible with existing OS 8.1 and OS 9. It connects via AppleTalk and/or over TCP/IP TCP/IP
 in full Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol

New features include: encryption The reversible transformation of data from the original (the plaintext) to a difficult-to-interpret format (the ciphertext) as a mechanism for protecting its confidentiality, integrity and sometimes its authenticity. Encryption uses an encryption algorithm and one or more encryption keys.  to keep discussions and files secure when sent through the Internet; the ability to drag, drop and transfer entire folders, as well as files; automatic compression for all attachments for faster file transfers; and archiving that enables dialogue to be tiffed, dated and reopened for continuation at a later date.
