AGES Asya, 13, and Chloe, 11 HOMETOWN Seattle SISTER ACT Together sibs Asya sings and pounds keyboard. SONIC YOUTH Their indie rock debut CD She Like Electric came out in 2004 to glowing reviews. They've toured with Jimmy Eat World, Sleater-Kinney and Pearl Jam. Their first video "La Pump" is now on heavy MTV2 rotation, and their second CD is due out this winter. Impressed? Uh-huh. SISTERLY LOVE Attending the same school (Asya is in eighth grade; Chloe's in sixth), making music together and sharing a wardrobe could test the sisterhood. Asya sets the record straight: "We fight. All sisters have to, but it makes us more like friends. "EXPANDING THE BAND Younger sister Mya, 9, picked up bass for a while but lost interest. Asya tells us another little sister Scout, 2, is more musically inclined: "She likes to dance to the beat. I hope she wants to play in our band. We kinda need a guitarist." ASYA'S SCENE Asya is the songwriter of the two. She's been coming up with songs since she was 5: "I don't write anything down. I just jam on it and work on stuff. The words come from poems that I wrote." CHLOE'S CALLING Chloe went to the music store looking for a violin and, instead, left with a drum set. "It was really big and shiny. And sparkly! It's not sparkly anymore though." ENGLISH CLASS AND ENCORES As luck would have it, Death Cab for Cutie drummer Jason McCerr was in the music store the day Chloe bought that drum kit, and the girls struck up a friendship with him. Chloe took drum lessons from him, and he asked the girls to open for his band. Oh, yeah!
