Four Amdahl customers who were nominated for Computerworld Smithsonian Technology Awards saw case studies on their work become part of the Permanent Research Collection on Information Technology at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History The National Museum of American History is a museum administered by the Smithsonian Institution and located in Washington, D.C., on the National Mall. It opened in 1964 as the Museum of History and Technology and adopted its current name in 1980.  on Monday April 3, when the 2000 Information Technology Innovation Collection was formally presented to the Institution.
