Smiths Detection Awarded Seventh Contract Option for the U.S. Joint Chemical Agent Detector (JCAD) Program; Unique, Wearable LCD Capable of Detecting and Quantifying Chemical Warfare Agents and Toxic Industrial Chemicals.


EDGEWOOD, Md. -- Smiths Detection, a world leading provider of chemical, biological and explosives detectors and x-ray security screening equipment, announced its Military unit has been awarded seven contract options within the Joint Chemical Agent Detector (JCAD JCAD Joint Chemical Agent Detector

Smiths Detection is supplying its Lightweight Chemical Detectors (LCD), a highly advanced non-radioactive chemical warfare chemical warfare, employment in war of incendiaries, poison gases, and other chemical substances. Smiths Detection's LCDs also have the flexibility to be mounted in various forms of military transportation such as wheeled or tracked vehicles, aircraft and ships. Currently, variants of the LCD unit are in service by the armed forces of a number of other countries.
