Smiths Aerospace has completed initial deliveries of the updated Electrical Load If an electric circuit has a well-defined output terminal, the circuit connected to this terminal (or its input impedance) is the load. (The term 'load' may also refer to the power consumed by a circuit; that topic is not discussed here.  Management System (ELMS2) to Boeing for the new long range 777-300ER (Extended Range) airplane. This system along with Smiths updated Ultrasonic Fuel Quantity Indicating System (UFQIS), are fitted on two 777-300ER airplanes currently in flight testing.

Dr. John Ferrie, Group Managing Director of Smiths Aerospace commented, "The updated systems utilise the latest advances in technology to reduce weight and cost of ownership for customer airlines."

The ELMS2 system will be fitted to all Boeing 777 airplanes delivered from October 2003 and the UFQIS from mid 2004. The first 777-300ER is scheduled for delivery to International Lease Finance Corp., and its customer Air France Air France

French passenger and cargo airline with more than 200 destinations in some 80 countries. It introduced supersonic Concorde service in 1976, but financial loss led the company to cease its Concorde
 in April 2004. These systems will also be fitted to the forthcoming Boeing 777-200LR (Longer Range) model.
