Smiths Aerospace: Aircraft Engine Facility in China.

Smiths Aerospace is pleased to announce the opening of a new 66,000 sq. ft. aircraft engine components manufacturing facility in Suzho, Jiang Su province, China. The facility will manufacture precision-machined aircraft engine components for the civil marketplace. It is located 80 kilometres west of Shanghai Shanghai (shăng`hī`, shäng`hī`), city (1994 est. pop. 12,980,000), in, but independent of, Jiangsu prov., E China, on the Huangpu (Whangpoo) River where it flows into the Chang (Yangtze) estuary. . The facility will initially employ 150 employees and will start operation in quarter one 2004.

Smiths engine components business is a leader in engine ring technology, supplying gas turbine turbine, rotary engine that uses a continuous stream of fluid (gas or liquid) to turn a shaft that can drive machinery.
