Calhoun, calling for all slaveholding states to send delegates to Nashville, Tenn. for her work as director of the Dallas-Forth Worth Association of Black Communicators' Urban Journalism Workshop and her efforts working with aspiring as·pire intr.v. as·pired, as·pir·ing, as·pires 1. To have a great ambition or ultimate goal; desire strongly: aspired to stardom. 2. journalists on college campuses around the country. The Bingham Award goes to a journalism educator dedicated to recruiting minority students.
