Smith Pattie.

Tara McCall Smith and Zachry Adam Pattie were united in marriage in a double-ring ceremony on July 29, 2006, at First Baptist Church in Jackson. Dr. Ron Mumbower of Jackson officiated the Christian ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. Rob Smith of Richland and Mrs. Tammy Hutson of Clinton and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Smith of Richland and Mr. and Mrs. Hoy Hawkins of Brandon. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lane Pattie of Summit and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Cutrer of McComb and Mr. Tom Pattie and the late Audrey Pattie of McComb.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a Mort Cheri ivory lace over satin gown with a full skirt. Swarovski crystal and pearls adorned the bodice and hem, with a chapel train. She wore a chapel-length veil trimmed with French satin.

Tara's "something new" was a pair of pearl earrings and a South Sea pearl and baguette diamond necklace given by the bride's father. The bride carried a formal bouquet of roses and berries and tied with French satin. A forty-year-old tatted bookmark served as "something borrowed," and an antique diamond cross from the bride's grandmother marked "something old." A delicate embroidered handkerchief added "something blue."

Complementing both sides of the altar area were stylized arrangements of Charlotte and Circus roses with lime green hydrangeas, red hypericum berries, and bells of Ireland. The bride entered to the "Bridal Chorus" by Wagner, and the congregation participated in song with " Savior Like A Shepard Lead Us."

Attending the bride as maids of honor were Miss Karlie Smith of Oxford, sister of the bride, and Miss Jennifer Quick of Richland. Bridesmaids were Jenni Romanow of Germantown, Tennessee; Brooke Currier of Osyka; Lauren Cowan of Flowood; Candace Clayton of Hazlehurst; Lauren Pennington of Pontotoc; Emily McDill of Jackson; Bethany Boteler of Florence; Jessica Williams of Richland; Regina Duran of Pearl; and Drew Bagley of Bay St. Louis. Flower girls were Sydni Smith of Byram, Madison Gregory of Ocean Springs, and Madelyn Cordell of Pelahatchie.

Mr. Lane Pattie, father of the groom, served as best man, and Derrick Pattie and Jeremy Pattie, brothers of the groom, stood as groomsmen. Groomsmen were Lane Adams of Liberty, Tyler Shandy of McComb, Jaren Mabry of Liberty, Lane Moore of McComb, Ty Mabry of Liberty, Mitch Johnston of Summit, Joey Lindley of McComb, Daniel Ulmer of Jackson, and Hamilton Robison of McComb. Attending as ushers were Tim Dowling of McComb, John Knight of Liberty, and Josh Gurney of Liberty. Ring bearer was Skylar Hodges, brother of the bride.

Ceremonial programs with deckled edges were provided for guests by friends of the bride Wendi Lofton and Katie Wood. Greeters at the ceremony were Terri Wood of Richland and Carolyn Boteler of Florence.

Music during the ceremony was provided by organist Tricia Dennis of Madison and vocalist Pare Prestage of Roanoke, Virginia.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds left in a white horse-drawn carriage for a brief historic ride around the Mississippi State Capitol, the Governor's Mansion, and the Old Capitol, then arriving at the Old Capitol Inn for a reception with friends and guests honoring the new couple. Upon entering the reception, the bride and groom enjoyed a champagne toast, followed by the couple's first dance to "Unforgettable." The bride's cake rested upon an antique silver plateau adorned with miniature French smilax and a table covered with rose petals. Chic candelabra adorned the large round guest tables, which complemented the powerful ten-foot tropical floral arrangement on the main food table.

The food presentation was created by Chef Bruce Cain. The tables were adorned with black and white table linens and decorated with assorted cheeses, seasonal fresh fruit, steamy artichoke and shrimp dip with crostini, grilled lemon and lime marinated loin of pork, crispy Southern fried chicken tenders, and hickory smoked and grilled garlic chicken tenders. Additional displays included a table of butterfly pasta with crawfish Alfredo sauce and a table of fresh Japanese sushi and sashimi.

The groom's cake, designed by Sandra Glover of Brandon, was chocolate cake with French chocolate icing and a scroll design. The cake was adorned with fresh chocolate-dipped strawberries.

The dance floor was crowded with the wedding party and guests for a festive evening of dance and entertainment with music provided by the fabulous These Days with Jewel Bass.

A dinner was given on the eve of the wedding, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Lane Pattie in honor of family and friends at the Capitol Club, which provided a panoramic sunset view of downtown Jackson. Designer floral arrangements for the weekend nuptials were presented by Wendy Putt of Fresh Cut.

On the day of the ceremony, the wedding party enjoyed a gourmet brunch hosted by the family of the bride's mother.

The evening culminated with a cheerful sendoff, whisking the couple away to an exotic eight-day cruise in Hawaii, which toured the islands of Hilo, Hawaii; Kahului, Maui; Kona, Hawaii; Nawiliwili, Kauai; and Honolulu, Oahu. Following the honeymoon, the couple will return home to Madison.
