) today confirmed the safe release of John Guyan, an expatriate worker who was taken hostage in Port Harcourt Port Harcourt (här`kərt, –kôrt), city (1991 est. pop. 362,000), SE Nigeria, a deepwater port on the Bonny River in the Niger delta. , Nigeria last week. Smith has made arrangements for John to join his family later this week.

The Company would like to thank the local Nigerian authorities and other parties with whom they worked to secure John's safe return.
