Small Business Conference wins 'Best of Show" Award.

 Regional Chamber's 2004 Small Business Conference received the "Best of Show" Award in the 21st Annual Awards for Communication Excellence (ACE) competition sponsored by the American American, river, 30 mi (48 km) long, rising in N central Calif. in the Sierra Nevada and flowing SW into the Sacramento River at Sacramento. The discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill (see Sutter, John Augustus) along the river in 1848 led to the California gold rush of  Chamber of Commerce Executives.

The top award was presented in August at the ACCE's annual convention in St. Louis. The Chamber's entry, in the "Special Events" category, had previously been chosen to receive one of six ACE Grand Awards. Roya Speights and Brenda Harvill of the Chamber's membership sales team also won Lifetime Achievement Awards at this year's ACCE convention for combined sales of more than $1.5 million during their tenure with the Chamber.

The ACE program honors, rewards and celebrates the achievements of outstanding communication programs, campaigns and projects that encompass all areas of communication excellence. This year's competition drew 250 entries from more than 100 chambers of commerce throughout the world. Entries were critiqued by more than 40 judges from diverse professional backgrounds.
