This book is for gay teens or people who are fascinated with the mechanics of gay teen love. It has a manic writing style, in the form of a blog with lots of emoticons. In case you don't realize it's hilarious, plenty of LOLs guide you on your way. The tone is sarcastic, cynical, and crass. Whether that translates into hilarity is a matter of taste. The language is incessantly profane PROFANE. That which has not been consecrated. By a profane place is understood one which is neither sacred, nor sanctified, nor religious. Dig. 11, 7, 2, 4. It's hard to believe any two boys would be that frank with each other and so willing to discuss feelings at length--or even analyze their feelings to that degree. The theme, not surprisingly, is to learn to respect yourself for who you are and to make your romantic choices on that basis. This may well appeal to boys if they are as sex-obsessed as this author believes. Myrna Marler, Assoc. Prof. of English, BYU BYU Brigham Young University
