Netigy Corporation today announced On-Guard!, the first network security program that offers true cradle-to-grave protection from accidental or intentional penetration.

On-Guard!'s full life-cycle protection begins with preparation of the network to resist intrusion and abuse attempts. After the network baseline is identified, On-Guard! monitors for attacks and provides for ongoing testing to identify any introduced perimeter vulnerabilities. If an intrusion of sufficient magnitude should still occur, Netigy fields its incident response suite of services, bringing the professional skills of a Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT), investigative management professionals, and operational forensics specialists to bear on the incident. The company has over 400 field consultants throughout Europe and North America to further support the CIRT team.

Vulnerability Assessment 

The first step in delivering a life-cycle incident management system is the identification and closure of any existing vulnerabilities in the network. Netigy's Vulnerability Assessment SWAT Team (VAST) has been implemented extensively with clients ranging in size from Fortune 100 companies to start-up service providers.

Remote Intrusion Monitoring

Remote Intrusion Monitoring (RIM) provides Netigy clients with remote 24 x 7 monitoring of their systems' security status and detects interruptions and incidents at both network and host/server levels. RIM can help an organization respond to system threats, often before a major interruption has occurred. It provides a feedback loop of information to help the organization prevent similar intrusions or interruptions in the future and it provides the basis for forensics, investigation and subsequent litigation or prosecution support.

RIM monitoring is conducted remotely by trained, certified engineers from Netigy's Incident Response Center (IRC) in Southfield, Michigan. Netigy is the first non-governmental entity to use the sophisticated Ringneck Technologies' (formerly Litton/PRC) Advanced Intrusion Detection Environment (AIDE) system. AIDE allows the monitoring of multiple intrusion detection systems simultaneously. Using AIDE, the Netigy IRC engineers can monitor intrusion detection systems (IDS) from a variety of best-of-breed vendors, and can perform event correlation across not only a client's single site IDS, but across that client's multiple sites as well as across different clients. With this information, Netigy can provide advance warning to all of its clients of attack patterns. RIM components include key data system identification, activity logging, forensic data collection, data and system activity interpretation, periodic perimeter scans, off-site secure storage of activity logs, client notification and incident response.
