SkyTel Introduces Five Cent Messaging; New Pricing Plan Costs Only a Nickel Per Message.

Company officials said under the new plan, cost now joins convenience and control as a key benefit of wireless messaging, especially when compared to cellular technology.

Additional messages, if any, will be billed at five cents per message.

To help promote the new pricing plan, SkyTel will begin renting the Motorola PF1500 alphanumeric pager, which the company uses for its SkyWord Plus guaranteed messaging service. Under the plan, the PF1500 will be available for $17 per month and can be personalized with enhanced voice mail, Caller ID A telephone company service that sends the caller's telephone number between the first and second ring of the call. If the calling number is not blocked, the calling number is displayed on the handset or base station of the called party. , e-mail forwarding Relaying e-mail to a different mail server. There are Web sites that offer an e-mail address and forwarding service for a fee or at no cost because they are advertiser supported. These sites let you choose a permanent e-mail address, and all mail sent to that address is forwarded to your  and other features.
