The artist's oil paintings (seen often picture books dealing with historic stories) follow a single tree from early summer through the seasonal changes of weather and its life cycle. A very brief innocuous in·noc·u·ous

Further, seven pages in the back of the book reproduce each picture in small scale and add a paragraph of explanation about the natural phenomena depicted (color leaf change, storm, etc.) or a bit about why Locker produced certain effects (e.g., "using the brightest pigments in this paint box to create the excitement and color of the fall"). One might learn something about the emotional potentials of colors not of the white race; - commonly meaning, esp. in the United States, of negro blood, pure or mixed.
