Skip hoist conveyor transfers each batch from mixer to mill or dump extruder.

The company's skip hoist conveyor, an auxiliary unit for its Techni-Mix, Maxi-Mix and other mixers, is designed to carry a finished batch of rubber compound from a tilt mixer to the next process station, such as a two-roll mill or dump extruder. Intensive mixers such as the Techni-Mix or Maxi-Mix have a mixer body which, after completing the mixing cycle, rotates (tilts) to allow the batch to fall into a bucket on the skip hoist conveyor. The bucket is driven on a track up an incline to reach the drop area of the mill or extruder. The track allows the bucket to rotate and drop the batch in the proper location on the mill or extruder.

The skip hoist design is said to provide an efficient use of floor space and can run within the existing batch cycle time, according to the company. The skip hoist bucket is designed for a clean transfer of the material from the mixer to the extruder throat.

The skip hoist assembly includes an open top steel carrier bucket with chrome plated working surfaces; a bucket carriage mounted on four sealed wheels; an inclined track weldment with side guards and legs; an AC gearmotor with parallel motor chains for lifting/ lowering the carriage and bucket; end of travel proximity switches; safety and containment screens; push-button station raise, lower, stop and e-stop with wiring; and controls to integrate it with the mixer interface.

Skip hoist conveyor models are available for mixer sizes from 20 liters to 110 liters. Custom designs can be readily provided.
