Skins Game at Rancho La Quinta Now Kids Game Too.


LA QUINTA, Calif.--(BW SportsWire)--Oct. 29, 1998--This year's Skins Game, in addition to offering the highest 18-hole purse in the history of golf, will offer six golf clinics, complete with celebrities, for up to 600 children younger than 16 during the Thanksgiving weekend event.

First-come/first-served signup is now underway for the Nov. 28 and 29 sessions. Participation is free for each child accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. A portion of the spots will go to members of local disadvantaged youth groups.

In addition to Camp Skins, children younger than 16 years of age will be admitted free to the Skins Game when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.

The one-hour Camp Skins sessions will begin with a demonstration and clinic overview. Participants will then get to practice driving, chipping, putting and hitting out of bunkers. Celebrity mentors will be announced in early November.

Rancho La Quinta will also host the Festival of Golf as part of the Skins Game which will include golf exhibits and other activities, including Friday's Pro-Am.
