the homeless already there. With all due respect, that is idiotic thinking and I've heard that story since 1976. What they want is to convert as much of Skid Row property to business use for the toy and garment industry and other businesses in the area that are growing. I am pro business, but I have never supported this concept.

If they succeed in reducing the physical size of Skid Row, they will simply create Skid Rows all over the city and other cities. There will always be a population that can only exist in a Skid Row and they need the support of the social service, governmental and charitable organizations This article is about charitable organizations. For other uses of the word charity, see Charity.
A charitable organization (also known as a charity) is an organization with charitable purposes only.

In 1976 I created the Skid Row Development Corp. and it in turn developed Transition House, an immensely successful operation that dealt with homeless people who did not have an addiction problem. They were people

who were just down on their luck, at that time two-thirds of the people in Skid Row.

I think Mr. Sterling's concept should be considered seriously.
