Skanska starts work on science school project.

Skanska USA Building Inc. has begun construction on the Science & Technology Magnet High School in New London, Connecticut New London is a city and a port of entry on the northeast coast of the United States. It is located at the mouth of the Thames River in southeastern Connecticut.

New London was founded in 1646.
. The project is valued at $18,750,000.

Skanska is providing construction management services for this new 60,000 s/f, three-story, state-of-the-art high school. Science and technology are the focus curriculum of the school, which will be located on the existing New London High School New London High School can refer to:
  • New London High School (Connecticut)
  • New London High School, Huron County, Ohio in New London, Ohio
  • New London High School (Wisconsin) in Waupaca County, Wisconsin
 property.

The new Science & Technology Magnet High School will utilize a structural steel design with an exterior curtain wall curtain wall

Skanska recently provided pre-construction services for the project, including full estimating services, scheduling, value engineering, constructability reviews as well as full procurement phase services.

The project team for the Science & Technology Magnet High School project includes: Friar friar [Lat. frater=brother], member of certain Roman Catholic religious orders, notably, the Dominicans, Franciscans, Carmelites, and Augustinians.
