Skanska puts safety first on Cadbury project.
Skanska, along with OSHA's Strategic Partnership Program for Worker Safety and Health (OSPP), entered into an extended, voluntary, cooperative relationship to achieve an optimum level of worker safety and health at the job site.
The program is being developed to inspire New Jersey-area construction contractors to continually improve their safety and health performance.
"The partnership promotes open and honest communication between OSHA, Skanska and the subcontractors. This results in a working relationship that utilizes OSHA's resources and encourages their participation for innovative solutions to safety related issues," said Kevin Kontura, project director for Skanska USA Building.
"Forming strategic partnerships with OSHA is just another way to bring value to the project by enhancing worker safety," added Skanska's environmental and safety director David Korman.
"With so many subcontractors involved in the project, this partnership will facilitate the kind of cooperation needed to ensure worker safety and health during construction," said Patricia K. Clark, OSHA regional administrator in New York. "We look forward to working successfully with Skanska in this effort."
