Skanska gets school assignment.


Skanska USA Building Inc. has been contracted to provide on-call construction management services for the New York City New York City: see New York, city.
New York City

The SCA secured the professional services (job) professional services - A department of a supplier providing consultancy and programming manpower for the supplier's products.  of Skanska through a request for proposal, to manage, coordinate and expedite the work at various public schools in the New York City school system.

Once contacted by the SCA, Skanska must immediately mobilize contractors, trades people, materials and other resources for executing the construction at these schools and facilities in the five boroughs of New York City.

It is essential that Skanska perform this work promptly and carefully to ensure the safety of the students, staff, faculty and the general public as most of the work will take place in close proximity to these occupied facilities. Skanska is providing this service to the SCA 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

"This is an important contract for Skanska as we help the SCA achieve one of their goals to provide a safe educational environment for the students of New York City," stated Alton Lewis, Skanska Project Executive for the SCA project. "Skanska will work closely with the SCA to ensure that all work is executed quickly and in a safe manner."
