 where the store is located, the thief walked back and forth in front of the line of stores just before the attempted robbery, evidently deciding which store to rob. An employee in one store even called an employee in another store and warned her about the suspicious actions of the person outside. But Wooden was oblivious to the man's motives and was not on guard against a robbery.

When the unknown assailant began his robbery attempt, he went straight at Wooden with a knife. Wooden believed that the assailant fully intended to kill him, and so he fought back. During the altercation, Wooden grabbed his gun and cocked it, and that action ended the fight. As soon as the assailant heard and saw Wooden's gun, he made a beeline bee·line

This and another armed robbery only days before have spooked some of the storeowners. Not Henry Wooden. He told News 12: "This is a quote to whoever. They had one chance. The second chance they don't walk away or run away."
