Sixteen Maoist rebels arrested in Jharkhand.

Hazaribagh (Jharkhand), Nov 20 (ANI): At least 16 Maoist rebels have been arrested from Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand on Wednesday.

According to Police, the rebels of the self-styled 'Armed People's Military (APM)' group surrendered after the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and local police raided their jungle hideout falling under the Chauparan police station following a tip off.

"We nabbed them in an encounter following a tip off. The way we surrounded them, they had no option but to surrender. We also recovered arms and ammunitions from them," said Praveen Singh, Superintendent of Police, Hazaribagh.

Police also recovered lethal weapons like Self Loading Rifles (SLR (1) (Scalable Linear Recording) A line of magnetic tape drives from Tandberg Data that evolved from the QIC Data Cartridge format. See QIC.

 Revolvers, DBBL guns and other guns that the Maoists had either looted or stolen from various police stations.

The Maoists have been active across many state of India, including Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand and West Bengal. They are also active in some areas of Orissa, Maharashtra and Karnataka. (ANI)
