) said today that the Kingda Ka Kingda Ka is a roller coaster located at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, New Jersey, USA. At its opening on May 21, 2005 it became the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world, claiming the title from Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point.  roller coaster, the world's tallest and fastest, has been repaired, tested and certified by state inspectors and is reopening today at its Six Flags Great Adventure theme park in Jackson, N.J. The ride was shut down June 8 after a malfunction during a routine test run. No passengers were aboard at the time and no injuries occurred. The company said it had identified the problem that caused the malfunction and, working with the manufacturer of the ride, has made adjustments to prevent its recurrence.

The company said attendance at the park since the shutdown had been modestly ahead of 2004 performance and that it anticipates that the coaster's return to service with so much of the season left will likely boost the park's final attendance totals for 2005.
