Picking up where easy-fit pants leave off, the Big John Toilet Seat is designed to meet a pressing need when nature calls.

Levy said Big John is "for your big friend, your linebacker buddy (who has) to slowly and gently sit down on the toilet seat because if they sit down too fast they're going to snap it. I had a guy tell me how his standard seat broke and then it grabbed him and he couldn't get up. He was trapped there."

That won't happen with Big John. "We tested it at 5,600 pounds," said Levy, who also equipped it with a large opening, stabilizing rubber bumpers, and stainless steel stainless steel: see steel.

Levy and Gordon test-sat their prototype with potential customers of all shapes and sizes. "They went into a private bathroom, sat down on it for real, and told us what they thought," Levy said. "Every single person wanted it. A couple of guys were emotional."

They are negotiating distribution deals now, and see opportunities for their Sherman Oaks-based company to go worldwide.
