BB:SITE) today announced the immediate availability of SiteMaster 4.0, a dynamic Web site development and management environment that helps Web developers dramatically increase team productivity and reduce Web development costs.

Utilizing an integrated database architecture, SiteMaster 4.0 is ideal for developing and managing Web sites with dynamic and static content. SiteMaster leverages each Web team member's specific expertise and incorporates content from other industry standard products and technologies.

The product can be downloaded via electronic software distribution (ESD (1) (Electronic Software Distribution) Distributing new software and upgrades via the network rather than individual installations on each machine. See ESL. ) from the company Web site (http://www.sitetech.com).

Web Team Work Model

"SiteMaster 4.0 is one of the few solutions that increases productivity by extending and enhancing the way Web development teams already work," said Jeffrey Ait, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Site Technologies, Inc.

"Programmers, graphics artists and other content creators can work separately from each other, focusing completely on their area of expertise. SiteMaster 4.0 integrates the output of each individual and extends it to multiple Web pages or Web sites. This allows Web development teams to produce multiple, dynamic Web sites in the same amount of time it takes to build a single basic Web site using conventional tools."

SiteMaster 4.0 includes a Component Maker that enables developers to take any Web application and convert it into re-usable objects or templates. Such templates may include a company's human resources The fancy word for "people." The human resources department within an organization, years ago known as the "personnel department," manages the administrative aspects of the employees.  intranet site, press release archives, online advertising and database queries. These templates can be shared with Web team members to extend the functionality of a new or existing Web project, or be applied to multiple Internet sites.

SiteMaster 4.0's site import function dramatically reduces content creation costs, saving Webmasters valuable time by their not having to recreate existing Web projects. This feature will automatically download a site via the Web or from a local hard disk, then componentize the content for use in the SiteMaster environment.

"We like how our Web teams can leverage the powerful SiteMaster database to quickly build Web applications at a very reasonable cost," said Paul Herring, CEO of Curiosity Communications, a design company that beta tested SiteMaster 4.0. "Another key value is the ability to automate changes made on one page to appear throughout the site. This dramatically increases productivity, while saving us time and expense."

Industry Standards Support

Web team members therefore do not need to understand application programming or learn additional programming languages -- another cost savings.

In addition, SiteMaster 4.0 completely supports Microsoft Access A database program for Windows, available separately or included in the Microsoft Office suite. Access is programmable using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Access can read Paradox, dBASE and Btrieve files, and using ODBC, Microsoft SQL Server, SYBASE SQL Server and Oracle data. , allowing Access databases, applications and queries to be fully integrated into Web site applications. Easy, Powerful Development and Management Tools

SiteMaster 4.0 offers "one-button publishing," which enables the Web team manager to publish revised content with a single function. This capability is based on configuration management principals, which optimizes Web site deployment.

SiteMaster 4.0 also offers the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) Pronounced "wiz-ee-wig." Additionally, SiteMaster 4.0 provides tools that businesses and development teams need to maintain and manage their Web sites. Included are components (finished applications) for creating and monitoring advertising banners on a Web site, and a Web server activity log.
